\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tI began writing stories because I wanted to help children understand their feelings in a kind and simple way. When I worked as a Head Start teacher, I saw how deeply kids feel things, even when they don\u2019t have the words to say it. I often remembered my own childhood and wished someone had helped me make sense of big emotions like sadness, fear, or feeling left out. That\u2019s how the idea for Jovie was born, a little puppy with a big heart, learning and growing just like the children I write for.
